ZEPPELIN!

"Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman)" on Led Zeppelin II. Next

Led Zeppelin

The Ocean. Didn't need to read reviews. I have a natural sense of Zeppelin songs.

Nice

You should put this under blues or general rock instead. Btw, what program did you use?

OctaneVein responds:

I used Cubase SX3 for the overall mixing process. Amplitube 2 for distortion, and EZ Drummer for the drums. =) And I changed it to general rock.

I second the last guy's opinion

Sweet Child o' Mine is one of the greatest songs ever and I like the dance version. Two problems though:

1.) The guitar solo doesn't sound right coming from synths. Maybe you should of just left that part out or something
2.) As Name-Goes-Here said, the drums keep coming and going. You should stay consistent with the drums.

Overall good though. Hey, since you've been such a good sport to my song "Metamorphosis", can you review my new "Return To Forever" series. That would be great! It's not finished though.

Holy shit!

This is a flipping awesome rock song! It sounds like Black Sabbath and Elton John jamming to Iron Maiden riffs and progressions! Nicely done. Good enough for my iPod! And it's the only song on Newgrounds that's good enough for it too. Try making a classical or a jazz fusion jam. I bet that would sound really cool coming from you.

GarageBand?

Judging from some of the melodies in here, you used some GarageBand loops, eh? I can help. Add at least one backup instrument such as a bass, drums (recommended if you're doing one), etc. to make your music sound more alive. This song didn't have much pizzaz, due to the lack of a rhythm section. For some ideas, check out my track, "Computer Jam" (the revised one, NOT the original one. You've been warned), made entirely out of GarageBand loops. You should also put it in a different key for an automaticlly more rock-oriented song. G major or E minor for that rock sound or F major or D minor, for more rock-oriented emotion. And set the speed to 155 for fast pace. You should also use more rock-oriented riffs and set the instrument to lead guitar, or grand piano.

lol

this is the corniest song I ever heard but it's still very inspiring.

lol

It's funny you submit this now because I saw this after I deleted my MySpace (mainly because of spamming).

On to constructive criticism: When I criticize rap, I look at the timing of the rapper, the lyrics, and the delivery (the 3 most important elements)

Rap Timing: not that good. Just because rap doesn't use the music theory as extensively as other genres of music doesn't mean you can rap as fast or as slow as you want in a set tempo. I recommend rapping to a metronome or a 4/4 drum beat to improve. Start at a slow tempo like 50 and work your way up.

Lyrics: I couldn't make out the lyrics that well. See Delivery.

Delivery: this is what rap is all about. You must stay consistent and make sure your delivery reflects your feelings toward the subject. There were patches in the song where you were too quiet for me to make out the lyrics, then you go back to normal volume. If you're angry about myspace, be angry!

Trust me. I know what good rap and bad rap sounds like. I am a music critic and I know someone who is an awful rapper.

Rudy responds:

It's totally fine. I really appreciate your constructive review. I obviously SUCK at rapping, I have to get into the feeling next time. But I really apprecaite it. Thank you so much.

Pretty good

I'm not that big on dance music but i do like music with a spacey feel. Nice job.
